Make sure, when / if, you get this recall done that you advise your service dude that you need the BCM to be the one that has "SECURITY". Apparently the way the service bulletin is written it's hard to understand which one to order, something about one for Japan (of all places) makes it hard to understand that is the correct one to order. At least thats what I was told, I don't think they could make that up, lol. Many things associated with the electronics of this bike are different than all the rest making it difficult for the service guys to get a grip. A little training would be a good thing but we all know how that goes.
If they install the wrong one you will not have any security on the bike and anyone can just walk up and start it. Mine was done like this and I didn't even know it. I went for about three months with no security and was just lucky the damn thing wasn't stolen. Then, they couldn't figure out what was wrong until I insisted that the service manager get involved and he figured it out.
If you have had the recall done I suggest that you check and make sure your security system is working. If you are like me, you would just put the key fob in your pocket, jump on and go, never realizing it wasn't working.
