2011 FLHTCUSE6 oil pressure gauge
« on: September 24, 2011, 02:03:03 PM »

I have a new 2011 SE Ultra that runs great w/Fullsac X-pipe recored mufflers & TTS.
My issue is or QUESTION:After the bike gets warmed up,riding in the city (Phoenix) the oil pressure gauge literally pegs to the left at idle, stopped at a light.
My idot light never goes on but,the needle on the gauge sits around 7-10 psi then goes immediately to the left like it does when you turn the key off.
NORMAL?
The bike seems ok & I have not seen anything like this on any of my dressers.Mabe bad sending unit or the new & improved computer?
The bike has done this from day one.I have put 2500 miles on her in 3 weeks...

Regards,Tom

Some folks have been reporting defective sending units lately, but it could just as easily be the gauge or wiring.  Assuming your dealer has decent techs, they should be able to figure this one out very quickly and easily.

Tom
I loved that Morgan article, thanks
There is an open in the circuit, the sender is toast (could be verified with an OHM meter) or an open in the wiring (less likely)
