Me too, failed rear brake light switch, '09 SEUC while on trip to Maggie Valley GTG. Tried to get switch replaced and was told by parts mgr at dealer in Roswell GA that the installed switch #72033-51D is obsolete and the replacement switch is "on extended backorder". My local dealer has this # part in stock and will replace it next week ( along with another set of heated grips [#3]and a defective twist grip sensor). One of the mechanics thinks that the ABS system when  activated and pulsing is causing the switch to fail. I did ride in the rain most of the way to MV and the ABS did kick in a few times.

Sure glad I bought that ESP!!! :2vrolijk_21:

Update: Went to dealer on Sat. morning. they said ABS had a software error. They reflashed the abs computer and bleed the brakes with the digital assistant. Mechanic said all is good now.He told me the pressure switch is not bad? I rode it home about 3 miles and checked the brake light with rear brake and it does not work! ABS light is out now and does not come on at all! Talked to dealer this morning they said bring it back over and they will get if fixed right away. ERRRRRRRRR!  :nixweiss:

Side note: Mechanic told me the same port is used to program ecm and abs computers!  :nervous:

YEAH, dealers say "They all do that"!
Interesting, we had an '09 with no cruise here last week, 2 burned out bulbs in the brake lights, defective r. switch......replaced all, and everything's working fine now.

Must be losing my freaking mind! Got the bike out started it to take to the dealer and all is working ok today? WTF! Tried the cruise control 2 times and rear brake disengaged ABS both times? I know for sure it was not working over the weekend. I had my BSR verifiy several times and showed some of my buddies. On the road set cruise and held rear brake and the bike just drove against it. The mechanic at the shop finally said maybe a intermittant pressure switch. YES! I believe that is the case. They said they would change it like I thought they were going to do on Saturday. I will have it back tonight and see how it goes!  :nixweiss:

The dealer checked it out and changed the pressure switch this time! Gee didn't I tell them that on the first trip? I am a little perturbed about 2 trips to the dealer for this but at least it seems to be fixed. I did notice that before the new switch when it worked I had to push the pedal pretty hard. Now with the new switch as soon as you touch it the light comes on. Hopefully this is the end of this story for me!
