BALD EAGLE
« on: October 15, 2011, 04:22:53 PM »

Bald Eagles are making a comeback in this area but are still pretty rare. A guy I ride bicycles with (Don't laugh too hard) took this picture. His family runs a limestone quarry and this picture was taken nearby. I have only seen one personally. It was near a lake in the area.

Bald Eagles RULE!

We saw this one, "America", at the Dollywood Eagle Mountain Sanctuary a few weeks ago. Stunningly beautiful birds! Sorry the quality isn't better... I only had my iPhone with me that day.

They all moved to Canada.  LOL We see them everyday here on Vancouver Island.  Very beautiful creatures.

Nice picture. I have some friends that live in Kansas and they have them everywhere. There are a few in East Texas, but they are hard to get close too.

Awesome birds! We are actually blessed to have a few nesting pairs that call Oklahoma home at least part of the year. Was lucky to see them hunting in Alaska several years ago. Could have watched them for hours. They are true masters of the air.

New Jersey has quite a few nesting pairs now. # pairs within 5-8 miles form our house. We occasionally have one flying over the house (we are close to a river).
One of the local nests is visible from the road. Several years ago there were a pair of chicks in that nest in January, supposedly the earliest known hatching.
Did weekly trips out to watch the eaglets grow up.

There are several nesting pair in TN.

I know of two pair on Watts Bar Lake.  More than once I have seen one in the Tree in my yard looking out at the lake for Fish.

I have watch one eat a fish on the neighbors dock.

I just love watching them.
