Always use premium in mine and I'm even luckier when I find a dedicated pump just for premium, I know it doesn't make that much of a difference but when you get to a pump that has the single nozzle for the three different octane ratings, you know that first bit in the hose is going to be regular gas at whatever the rating is, 87 I think, until the premium is distributed, so when I find a station at home with a dedicated nozzle for premium, I stick with it, on the road, I go with what's offerred premium wise. Fussy, maybe, but which CVO owner isn't? :coolblue:

I hate those single hose pumps! I've never told my riding buddy why but that's the reason I insist he always fuels up before me.  He thinks I'm just being polite!  I let him clear the hose of 87 octane.  :huepfenlol2:

92 and 93 octane, what's that?  ;D In Ca. about all we get is 91 filled with a bunch of worthless stuff. Traveling out of state we almost always get better milage and the bikes run better.

It is nearly impossible here in Maine to find anything better than rotten 91 octane with single nozzle pumps everywhere. You know it is old too for only we bikers will pay for it and what is maddening is that you can buy 93 almost everywhere in New Hampshire the next state over.

Premium 93 in N.C., I've never used octane booster until yesterday. Got the FXDSE2 out of the basement ( been on the bagger all winter). Started it up and it was running like chit, really rough. When I thought about it, I hadn't rode it since Octoberfest 2011. Still had about a gallon of six month old gas in it. Put some booster in it, filled it up with 93. It came back to life immediately, it was like I gave it a shot of nitrous. ;D

We have a station close by with non ethanol 89 octane, I've tried and have a little ping.. But even with 93 octane I've heard pingin, here is a site that gives stations with no ethanol...

91, with 10%, single hose at almost all stations here as well. I have one station that carries  no ethanol and try to use it for everything we drive.
