Vance and Hines
« on: October 08, 2010, 08:23:56 PM »

I'm running a 2011 CVO Street Glide. Is there a performance difference between the V&H Dresser Duals and there Power Duals. Also there mufflers, Monster Ovals or Monster Rounds. V & H advertises them as not very loud but goor performance. Anyone have any input ??

Just put on the V&H Power Duals and Monster Rounds on my 11 SESG.  It has a much better sound over stock without being too loud and drowning out the radio.  Very happy with the purchase.  Looks awesome too!

I posted this on another thread and then saw this one and figured I would repeat it. I moved from a bike that had a big bore 95 with Andrews 26 cam and Samson 33" Fishtails. It could be obnoxiously loud but I loved it. It was a RK though so no stereo to worry about. On an Iron Butt group run across Montana, a fellow rider mentioned that he determined he had to have at least 4 bikes between us not to hear me. Course this was cruising at 90 mph.

The 110 SG came with the Monster rounds and the V&H Power Duals. It is way quieter! That being said, it has a nice deep rumble and still makes some noise when you roll on it. Any louder and hearing the stereo would be a problem. At first I was ready to ditch the Monster rounds but they have grown on me.

you mileage may vary  :)

Not sure if the Monster Ovallswil fit into the cut out in the skirt at the base of the bags.
I posted a similar thread so all is good.

According to Vance and Hines Tech Support the Monster Ovals will not fit the cut out. Murph

I have done the same, V&H Power Duals and Monster Rounds and it sounds deeper than any other system that I have ever heard and  adds to your torque when compared to any true dual style of 2/2. That's my story  :D

Looks great. I thought these round V&H monsters were available in chrome only. Did you have these powdercoated by a local shop?

There is a big difference. The dresser duals are a true dual set up, and the Power Duals are a 2-1-2 configuration.

True duals may sound better (and louder) and may mean less heat on your legs, but you will lose low end torque.
