SE 255 Cams in TC88
« on: November 23, 2011, 10:07:09 PM »

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this question. I think I would like to have a little higher performance cams(more low end torque) in my SEUC. If I replace the OEM cams from my 09SEUC (I think they are SE255's) will they fit/work in my wife 03 Road King Classic. If so, would the increase in performance be worth the $$? Road King has SE A/C, PCIII, Rush pipes. Pros and Cons? Thanks

I don't think they will work Arlen. Seems I remember '00 -'06 and '07 up. Not 100%, but pretty sure. Good luck!

They will not fit in a pre-07 bagger.....the inner cam bearing is larger.

Thanks 2K and HD. Was just going to try and utilize the take out parts and upgrade the old Road King at the same time. I didn't think they would fit either but I could not remember why.  :nixweiss:

You would have to have the 06 dyna 07 all style cam plate and pump, as well you would need to machine down the inner bearing surface( old style is smaller) and then press a hardened race onto the end of the cam. Overall I bet it would be a good cam.

Thanks for the info but that's more effort than I want to put into momma's 03.

Won't fit, but an Andrews 21 or 26 would be a great plug/play choice. :)

Thanks, but not looking to put any more money into the 03' RKC. Wife is riding it but looking to sell or trade it hopefully next year. Was just going to use the SE255 cams in it if they would fit. No big deal....Have to keep her HP and TQ down so she doesn't want to race me all the time!lol.

Put the SE255 in an '06 Dyna (88 incher stock heads etc.). Ran good. Worked well for this guy especially. Seems he liked being in 6th gear already before a 150 yard distance was reached.
