Front end shake
« on: October 26, 2011, 07:36:48 PM »

Is it normal to set on the bike and shake the handle bars back and forth and feel the forks continue to vibrate after u quit? Feels like something loose but cant find anything.

I just finished checking everything on the bike but it still dont seem right to me.Before u answer sit on ur bike and shake the handle bars hard and stop. Then see if u feel the vibration I am talking about. It seems like the forks vibrate a lot ,but it may be normal.

I've never felt the need to sit on my bike and rapidly shake the bars side to side, so I can't say I have an answer for you.  But I do have a question.  Is the front tire on the ground or elevated when you do this little side to side number?  And where do you notice the vibration, in your hands or visually looking at the forks or perhaps a vibrating sound?

Handlebars are rubber mounted btw, so it wouldn't surprise me to have a little relative motion between the bars and the steering head bracket and forks.
