Heated grips are overrated. Heated gloves do much better since they warm the outside of your hand where the elements come from.

Well I don't live in Texas but know a thing or two about cold weather riding. On the bike I just traded, I had both grip heaters and the ability to use my Gerbing gloves. Both were very nice. The grip heaters are all you need for temps into the 30's and are nice even in the summer for those cool mornings when you are using thin or half-fingered gloves. Once you drop around freezing, the Gerbings rock. Once you get into the lower 20's, I like having them both on.

The gloves heat the top of you hand and fingers. The grips your palm and fingers. Both have their uses.

The only complaint I have on gloves is they are bulky and a pain to plug in.

I'm already getting parts together for a bar change and grip heaters (not the HD type) will be part of the project.

Thanks guy
Well, it's too bad that the new 2012 Cvo SG doesnt come with heated grip, it's strange HD have upgraded that bike with almost the best parts and they did not add the heated grip
I have one on my 2011 deLuxe
Use and they helps alot in cold weather
I just noticed one thing that in a very cold days, I turn the controller sometimes to 5 or 6 but I don't feel the heat and I don't know if that because of the cold temperature or because that the grips are not working as they were suppose to.

They are probably operating intermittently.  I know with mine turned all the way up, I can feel the heat, even with the the heavy winter riding gloves that I have.

Battery operated gloves. One less thing to load the charging system on the bike, and no wires to deal with.

You have to remember though, they need somethings to put on the CVO Ultras to make them stand out as "top hog".
