Suggestions Please
« on: November 28, 2011, 08:45:35 PM »

Ok Guys,

I am getting ready to drop my 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra off at the dealer in a couple weeks to have the jugs pulled and sent to Nevada to be diamond cut, getting the show cut.

So My questions is, why they have it pulled apart, is there anything you would have done while it was apart to save tear things apart later. It currently is at 106hp 124tq.  So it runs strong and not looking for anything super radical, because I want it street able and able to get on it in VA and ride to CA and back whenever the urge hits me, which so for has been 5 times over the past 6-7 yrs. on other bikes.

Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, not new to HD, but to the 110" I am.

Thanks in advance,

I would make sure after you get everything back that the cylinders are cut to be sure they are round again, possibly also cut the cylinders to get rid of your pistons in the hole amount so you have a zero deck height, add a little compression to say 10 to 1 and put in a cam that matches your riding style.   You might also considering having the heads touched up and also please make sure you have them taken apart and cleaned to be sure there is no foreign matter still left over after the diamond cutting.

Looking at those HP & TQ numbers, I'm guessing you already had some work done :nixweiss:
