Harley policy on international shipping
« on: June 01, 2011, 01:28:00 AM »

Cannot believe that Harley have now stopped their dealers selling to people outside the US !
Everybody here knows how much we spend on accessories for our rides, but this latest policy from the moco really sucks.  Was hoping to change the rear end of my ride to US style & got a quote from dealer in the UK for the rear smoked lenses, cheapest I could find here was £218 ($358) per unit, so checked out prices on the Internet & for the same item in the US $120 per unit. So thought I would just order from the US & pay the extra shipping cost, but now been informed that they are no longer allowed to sell to the UK !!!

Agreed, it's a joke (and not a very funny one)

I wanted to do the same thing and will now have to get a friend in the US to order parts to be delivered to her and have her ship it to me!

I can't see any other way round it.....

you may have a look here. There are offers of help from several members here and some work arounds, for instance myus or borderlinx.

Just purchased everything I will need for the next few years before this crap kicks in - purchased through M&M - saved 40% in relation to the stealers here in Oz.
Guess I'll be keeping the CVO for ever now - a good thing!

Are there any dealers left that still ship internationally?

I believe St. Paul HD still does. They are my dealer and I have always been satisfied with their service and pricing.

St Paul HD is one of the few dealers that continue to sell on ebay so far. I had a bunch bookmarked and they all ended their sales before the new year began. STPHD had gotten a restraining order but apparently the other dealers are afraid to try and butt heads with the MOCO.

If you know anybody Stateside get them to buy the parts for you and have them ship them over. That is what I have done in the past and it has worked ok, particularly if they send them to you as a present - otherwise you can attract UK VAT.

There are some "re-shippers" on e-bay as well. For a small fee and the additional shipping charges...they will ship to you.
