the main, real issue is really straight forward.

hd built and put into the market a bike with a engine with NONE of these problems

it sells really well overseas - but does not sell well here

if we really want a engine thats not hot and makes LOTS of power hd sells one

but the sales have to be much higher to get more models - what we all want is a air cooled bike with the power of the water cooled bike that meets emissions and noise - and its NEVER going to happen, so we get air cooled engines are are right on the bleeding edge of heat with emissions controls.

my 96 twin cam is still miles more reliable than my old shovel so im not complaining.

Cahdbiker, I think you hit the nail on the head. Evidently everyone doesn't have problems out of their bikes so there is a QC problem somewhere. This is a safety issue, at low speeds you could drop your bike if cornering or god forbid be pulling out into traffic. Secondly my truck has 390 horsepower straight from the factory, no upgrades required or needed and is within EPA standards.

water cooled

yup. We either have to deal with it, support H-D building a 110 Vrod type water cooled engine or buy metric. I've been opt 3 for decades but think option 2 is where they need to head. Reckpn option 1 is where we're at for now. Glad we can make mods to cool them down a bit and get more power.
