Service Bulletin on FXSTSSE front tire?

Hi! I saw something on getting the front tire replaced under a service bulletin? I bought mine back on march 2011, it's an '08 FXSTSSE2. It had 680 miles on it then. I have about 3000 miles on it now. It's cupping. Service manager said he couldn't get it replaced. I saw a thread on here, but can't find it now? Anyone able to help me? Sucks having to buy a new tire at 3000 miles on the front. Used to get 2 back tires to one front before.

Had the same problem as you. Same bike, 08 springer.  Same tire that was recalled on other models.  Problem is that the motor co. recalled certain models of bikes with that tire and not all models with that tire.  Go figure.  :nixweiss:

Does anyone have a copy of this service bulletin?  I am having my front tire replaced after 6K miles today on my FXSTSSE3.  Just wonder if the 2009 was covered.

The only bulletin I can remember is M1258A, which covered 2009 Touring models.  See attachment.

Thanks Jerry.  That's what I was afraid of.  This service bulletin only mentioned the touring models with this tire even though the 2008 & 2009 Springers had the same tire.  I was hoping a new bulletin had been issued to include us Springer folks.  Sounds like we've had mixed results with our dealers pushing HD to cover the cost of our replacements.  I'm having mine replaced now after 6K miles and it doesn't seem like the dealer can do much about getting it covered.

Ditched the Dunlops and went with Avon cobras . . . nice even wear and excellent traction.   :bananarock:

Are the Avons V rated? I like the Pirelli tire. Just haven't seen tires that are both V rated. But I've just looked on J&P Cycle so far.

Mine was replaced on my 09 Springer for free at about 4500 miles.

I also changed to Avon cobra rear.....better at turning and rides better. Not enough miles to comment on wear yet.
