Has anyone run across this new motorcycle?  Looks like they are going to start producing this year around Birmingham AL.  Interesting concept, light weight for HP, will be interested to see the price and content when it is out.

See the first post in this thread...I live in B'ham and have seen/heard the bike in person.  There is a lot of valve train noise, but that should be expected with the engine design.  If you've ever heard a Ducati with a dry clutch, multiply that by 50%.  From an engineering standpoint, it appears to be an excellent design, and the folks are really doing their homework getting it right before production starts up.  They must have some money backing them up, but I don't know who.  Sheer speculation on my part, but I would not be surprised if George Barber had a hand in this...

While it's a neat looking bike that has that "look at me - I'm different" quality, I can't imagine how difficult it will be to succeed in such a slow economy.  Buell failed, Indian has failed, come back, failed again, HD sales are way off...seems like a bad time to bring out a new brand that will only appeal to a select/small mkt.  Let's face it, this thing will be pricey....the 20-30 year old crowd won't be able to afford it, so they'll buy Japanese, like they do now.  That means they'll have to chisel out customers from the middle/upper middle class Ducati and BMW crowd.  Will potential customers be skittish of a new company (i.e., what happens if they go out of business...what about parts, service)?  I wish them all the luck, but this will be a difficult endeavor.

What do you guys think...

It wouldn't surprise me if Barber is involved.  They went to Pratt & Miller and Kaytech here in MI which are heavily involved in Auto racing.  Looks like the selling point is the HP to weight ratio.  I suspect the engine has a lot of potential.

It will be interesting, its not a cheap endeavor to do something like this as many other manufacturers found out over the last 10 years.

Bingo on George Barber. If you go to the Motus website, some of the pics were taken at the Barber facility in B'ham.

If Barber is involved, money isn't an issue in the short term.  I'd really like to see another american brand out there to compete with the German and Japanese offerings in Sport Touring bikes.

I actually like it but not to crazy about the Givi bags and topcase. I have to agree with Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspension, and all the technology going into this bike it will be pricey. It's going to be tough breaking into the market but I hope they succeed.

I really like the looks (minus the bags/tour bag).  Really interested in price though...thinking that will probably cool my lust.

If some of you Birmingham guys go to the event on Sat, please post some pics and comments.

Very interesting bike. Power to weight a big plus. I really like the sound of the motor. Can't wait to see the price.
