My traxxion-Monotube comparison
« on: January 28, 2012, 02:53:16 PM »

I've now had both Traxxion and Progressive Montube.  The Traxxion was on my 08 FLTR.  The Progressive Monotube was just put on my 12 FLTRU.  I did 250 miles today with the new set up.  I had/have Suspension Technologies on both rears.

RESULT = No way would I ever spend the money on Traxxion again. Yes, Traxxion is a nice product.  But I don't feel enough difference to spend an additional $800.

The bike handles much better.  No more sloppy feel going into turns.  Slow riding turns are much easier too.

I had the susp tech shox tuned for superslab riding with my weights.  Saweeeet.

Traxxion works as advertised.  Progressive Monotube works as advertised.  I can't tell the difference in performance.  But I can tell the difference in price.  DOOF

I've got the TD system on one bike and the monotubes on another.  So regularly go back and forth over the same roads.  The TD is better.  It's a noticeable difference.  But it's not a great difference.  The difference is small enough that when I had to choose one over the other for the Road King project the choice was easy.  Monotubes in that third bike.  Both are very good so the price difference couldn't be self-justified.

The Monotube is great at slow riding turns - and the highway feel for me is perfect.  DOOF
