That will be nice and you will have a exhaust that is not everywhere you look. I like the exclusivity of the Bassani.

Thanks - I really like the sound of the 2-1 and the torque it adds by removing the cat conv. and also adding the XiED's.
I noticed it on the LoBoy right away.

So you changed out the complete exhaust system and did not recalibrate the ECM?  You might think it runs just fine but if you were to get the ECM in sync with your running parts you'd be in for a pleasant surprise.  And if you do that, you won't need those IEDs...

Yes ! I was told that getting the stage 1 dwnld does nothing more than raise the rev limiter ?

You were misinformed.  The rev limiter is raised, but there are also VE (resulting in fueling) and spark timing changes to suit the combination of H-D parts which comprise their stage one.  This nominally serves to keep the Adaptive Fuel Values more even with each other and well within their range.  You would have neither quality for them after just changing breathing parts from stock.

If you didn't use H-D parts, they're not going to have a proper "download" for you anyway.

this should explain.

With plenty of misinformation!  If he honestly believes what he's written there I guess he could be forgiven for it.  But he should do better research before acting as an authoritative advisor.

Hey Lilcoot...try using oven cleaner.  The kind you don't have the heat your oven to use.  I've not tried it yet, but I have some tar that got on my right boot when I was doing some parking lot exercises.  An old biker buddy gave me this tip.  I'm going to give it a try this next week, while on vacation.  Try not to get it on any painted surfaces!

I'm going to have to look up Bassani...ya got my curiosity up.

I have always used the COLD oven cleaner on my pipes when I've gotten a boot mark or tar and it works great  :2vrolijk_21:  Just spray it on and let it sit a few minutes, but Do NOT get it on your paint or engine  :)

You seem to have an axe to grind about the IED, but I still believe they do what he says they do. I have used them in three different motors with good results, and NO problems.

No sour grapes ?

When he was working on the combination of resistors necessary to achieve "14.0 AFR", his third iteration of the non-adjustable model (and evidently now the only one for sale), he offered to send me a set at a cost of only my public feedback, but I'd already started using TTS so naturally declined.

No sour grapes.  Merely bewilderment.

No doubt you've had no real problems, but you've certainly left a lot on the table.

Maybe so, but as I have indicated - I was only interested in a better sound with a bit less HEAT, and this is all I was hoping for.
I tried a PC a few years back, and found it to be more problematic than helpful  :nixweiss:

Having worked in the trade many years ago before EFI and ABS, with carb only machines, some of this stuff is a bit above my learning.
that being said, it is through many hours of reading post from folks such as yourself, that have help me come to the conclusion that there are as many versions of tuning as there are Brands. I guess I will stick with what I know. It has been very interessting. :confused5:
