Seat question
« on: February 06, 2012, 07:45:24 AM »

Are the 2011-12 Street glide and Road Glide seats the same?  Will they fit on either bike whether it be CVO or not?

Thank you

I'm pretty sure they are interchangeable I bought the same bike as you took that uncomfortable seat off and put one on from a 09 cvo ultra with a backrest what a difference.

They are not the same at all - but they are interchangeable because all H-D Touring bikes have exactly the same frame, and exactly the same seat mounting points. The 2011 and 2012 SESG seats are completely different - the 2011 seat is comfortable, but not as good-looking as the very-UNcomfortable SESG 2012 seat. I dumped my SESG 2012 seat because I couldn't ride on it for more than 30 minutes without my back screaming and my butt going to sleep. I have a Corbin SoloTour on the bike now, and I love it. I can ride all day on the Corbin... and have, many times.

The RG seats I can't comment on... I have no experience with them.

The reason I was asking is that I found a Corbin Dual Touring that was for sale.  Was on a 2012 Street glide.  Was exactly what I was looking for,
so I ended up calling Corbin and checking the numbers out as well.  All go from here.  Just waiting for it to arrive :orange:

Thank you

Please let us know how the new seat feels.  I just ordered a 2012 CVO Street Glide and I am terrified of the stories I am reading about the seat.  I am looking for a 2up with a driver back rest.  Looking for suggestions - I keep hearing good reviews about the Corbins and someone mentioned Airhawk.

I have read about comfort for the new corbin dual tourer for the driver but not anything about the passenger.
How does the passenger feel about it, I am ok with the SG factory seat but my future doesn't like it. She says it is too hard

The Corbin Classic Solo with the Touring Pillion is close to the same as the Dual Tourer with the exception of being a two piece seat (no heat for the passenger) instead of a solo like the Dual Tourer.

My wife rode on the back of my bike from Colorado Springs, Co. to Sacramento on my 04 SEEG........12 hours in the saddle and in the triple digits.  When we got home I asked her about the seat and she said that wasn't an issue but she'd have liked a few options for her feet.  :2vrolijk_21:

The only complaint I've ever heard about Corbin is that to the touch, the Corbin is probably the firmest seat out there.  However, on the long haul riding across this country.....it's the most comfortable seat out there.  Don't ask me......I can't explain it.......I just know it's a non issue for me even when putting twelve hour days in the saddle back to back.

The man in brown just brought the seat :huepfenjump3:  Just put it on and sat on it.  I like the feel, as with feet on boards, my butt sits right at the back
and feels right.  With snow here, it will be a while before I have it out.  I will try to get pic's later.
