A lighter feeling?
« on: February 19, 2012, 09:20:39 PM »

My son and I went for a ride today. We rented him a 2012 Street Glide and I rode my 2009 SESG (aka SERG). I rode his for a little while and noticed if felt lighter.  :nixweiss: Is there that much difference in weight to make them feel different?

That's all easily looked up so you need not have speculated.  09 SE Road Glide had a published wet weight of 880#.  12 Street Glide has a publshed wet weight of 822#.  How much that difference is "felt" to you is an entirely subjective measure though.

Part of any perceived difference will be where the weight is and where it's felt though.  One bike put much more weight moving with the handlebars while the other has it frame mounted.  Even both bikes had the exact same gross weight that difference in placement will feel differently to you in the saddle.
