LED Headlamps ...LEDs & Bi-xenon ?
« on: March 01, 2012, 02:49:21 PM »

Nothing more unsettling than the frequent smell of road kill as one rides around in the dark with the poor light of the OEM headlamp, especially if the smell is likely to be a 200lb solid muscle kangaroo (maybe I should jump around all day too), so looking at the marketing videos of the HD LED 7" Headlamp I put in an order for one.

Though I am curious now, it appears that there are two Ds of LEDs and two projector lamps, does anyone know if the projector lamps are Bi-xenon projection lens ...they look like them or are there LEDs behind the LENs....dumb question I guess

That's different, we have to worry about possems, squirls, racoons....kangaroo!   :huepfenlol2:  The light is LED and I thought it was one of the best HD accessories came out with.  Works great at night, but friends have also mentioned that it was really bright and noticible during the daylight and even in the sun.  I wish they offered them for my RG.  Good luck, and I guess it's better to smell them than run into them!

They are LED, with a reflector housing.  There are other threads regarding this item.

This is one: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=66946.0

I'm also considering the Truck-lite, but want to wait until the 7 is available.  It's like the HD model, for a little less $$ and 4 yr warranty.  Harley only offers a 1 yr ticket.

I live in a rural area that is full of big white tail deer, among other critters. My stock lamps were so poor that I would make sure to be home before dark. When I was out at night I would have to ride so slow I was afraid I would be rear-ended and would be all tensed up. I bought the H-D LED headlamp and auxiliary lamps (also LED) and am well satisfied. They are ten times brighter than the stock halogens and the light pattern with the passing lamps is much larger as well. They were more expensive than the Kuryakan/Trucklite set but I think they look a lot better and perform equally as well.
