Maybe this will help. I have a post recall 08 cuse 20,000 plus no problems! I like the bike it runs great. post recall date is mid may production,so lots of 08 models were recalled. You have a bike that is not a dog! betcha get lots of comments on the paint. ride and enjoy!

Thanks to all for your responses.  I was able to get the actual build date for my bike. It was 06-08-2008.  This was after the "recall" bikes which were up to May 2008.  All of this info came direct from Mother HD.  At any rate, I appreciate all of the input.  Think I will just ride and enjoy it.  Life is too short!!!!

Sometimes the small things slip by...M1289....torx head fastenders for the handle bars hit the radio, cd skip (i never used cd's)  and eventual death of the unit..ask me how I know....It happens fast.

IronCross Audio hooked me up with the ipod interface and fixed the unit...now it is sitting waiting for crummy $1 fasteners...$1 dollar fastners cost $250 fix...imagine the mothership not noticing that the friggin bar mount screws are rapping the stero unit...sheesh...

That is a winning idea there, the only thing you might consider is checking the Motherships website here and there for any updates they may have out for your bike.  Other than that enjoy it and if something does happen then deal with it.   Probably find almost anything you can run into already documented on the site.

I think he's in pretty good hands Harry.  We determined that he bought the bike from a previous member (or may still be a member.....just haven't saw any posts in a couple of years) and Jim did the work on it over in the bay area.
