WINDSHIELDS/WINDSCREENS
« on: July 20, 2006, 06:02:15 PM »

I really like the look of the of the short dark windshield that comes on the CUSE, but I just get too much air flowing around my head/helmet area and therefore a lot of air noise.  I'm running the HD standard height, 12", lightly smoked unit (P/N 58302-96), but would like something darker.

I'm thinking about the Memphis Shades Gradient Black, 12" (P/N 750-025 in J & P Cycles).  I'd like to see a photo with this windshield installed if anyone has got it.  I'd be interested in seeing photos with any other windshield options?

Phaze...check out this thread...I think you'll find what you're looking for there.  I ordered one today.

Just an option in windshield choices as just posted, I have the 9 1/2 smoked Clearview shield on my bike and really like it.   I believe Clearview makes an even darker shield as well.  Give them a call,  very nice people to deal with.

Side view ....  the eurolip at the top works well.   Makes the 9 1/2" deflect air as well as a 12".

PHAZE,

The Memphis Shades shields are good (I've got the 9" gradient red on my SEEG), but if you're looking for the top half to be tinted they are not.  The tint is only on the bottom 4", with about 1/2" of that being the transition "blend" to the clear upper.

One big vote for the Clearview! THe people are great to work with, they give folks from this site a discount, and to top it all off, their product actually does what they say. The Eurolip really does deflect the wind. It makes the windshield feel like an it was an inch or so higher. On mine, I can look well over the top and not get blown around by the wind. I love it!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I just put my Clearview on last wknd.  I had the same problem you descriped.  It felt like the stock windshield just pounded my face and head with wind.  Riding choppers with no windshield felt better.  Last weekend I put on a 8.5" Clearview.  Works great.  I'm was thinking about taking it a window tint company to get it darker.    I'm 6'3" with stock seat and this size works well, just enough wind to let you know your still on a bike.

I ordered my Clearview today and included a "rush" charge so I could get it in before heading out to Sturgis.  I'm looking forward to getting it on the bike.
