This may sound stupid, but I was told by a service tech that the bike already has stage one and doesn't need an upgrade and the computer will make the adjustment. Sounds shoddy and I am thinking of getting a Gen 3 Dobitech

Your Tech is wacked, try running it to the rev limiter, 5800, the stage I allows it to 6200, and resets other values as well.

I have the the Bassani 2-1 Road Rage Long, and using Nightrider XiED's which adds fuel to the closed loop portion of the throttle.
It really works well, and so far I have had No noticable issues. Pulls strong from 2000 rpm, has more torque, and does not seem to run
as HOT as some have experinced. Here in SW MI, we have NOT had any HOT weather yet, so it is really hard to evaluate this. Plugs look
very good, (Tan) and is still NOT poping on Decel.

JMHO
