2012 CVO Street Glide - Right saddle bag speaker not working
« on: April 01, 2012, 05:59:28 PM »

I have a brand new CVO Street Glide and the right saddle bag speaker is not working and the ipod kept re-syncing while riding. I unplugged it a couple times and does not help. Any ideas?

Take it in and have the dealer look at it?   :nixweiss:

Yup.  Check the wiring going to that right side bag and make sure it's connected properly and it isn't damaged from dragging on the tire.  If the wiring is damaged, or if you find no damage and the connections are OK, then take it to your dealer as the other's have recommended.  Don't mess with it and give them an excuse to blame you for the problem.

I had a similar problem where all right-side speakers on my 2012 SESG would not work with my iPod or XM - only my AM/FM radio.  My dealer eventually found that some wiring was landed in the wrong spots from the factory which was causing the problem.  Like everyone else is suggesting, I would take it in and let them worry about finding/fixing it.

Appears that Harley ain't up to speed on sound systems. Is there any owner of a 2011 or 2012 SESG that hasn't had a problem yet with the sound system?

Dropped it at the dealer tonight and they are going to look at it in the morning. Whish me luck! I also printed Service Bulletin M-1315 that I got off the big thread floating around on here with audio problems.. I will be honest I get real uneasy when my bike is at the dealer. I talked to the guy about how particular I am and don't want any scratches. Got the usual response "we always do our best." Heard that one before.

How did a blown speaker cause the iPod to malfunction?

They were unable to get the Ipod to malfunction. They asked the MOTORCO about it and they said check connections. I drove it home tonight just to get it out of the dealer and it didn't act up at all. I will take it back when the speaker comes in. I guess I will see what happens with that.
