Stu and I had been discussing this previously, and curiosity got the best of me so I did a little digging.  It seems that Harley changed how they had the GDO wired into the system between the 2010 and 2011 model years.  In 2010 the connection was made at the same point where the two bulb connector harness was plugged into the regular headlight connector.  In 2011 they changed to a dedicated separate connector for the GDO in the harness.  So this explains why some needed to use a pigtail and some did not.

I made all my connections before the 2 into 1 stock harness. I would say thats why I was good to go with just plugging into the newph 7 headlight.   Jerry, thanks again or all the help.

Been running Phase 6 TL in my Rig for a year or so now and love them.  Bright white light.  Just ordered the TL Phase 7 for the bike and Phase 7 Aux lights as well.  Excited to see how well they perform.
