Need input please

Hey People,
 I ride a 2007 FLHTCU and would like to upgrade to a 2008 FLHTCUSE. Question.. Did Harley re-engineer the frame on the 2008? I would like to gather some information on the 2008 SE. Engine issues, transmission issues (ie gear whine,etc) handling issues. Or any other issues. Thanks in advance

The new frames started on the 2009 FLH framed bikes.

Definitely go for 09 up.  The difference in frame is huge as far as how it rides and handles the bumps.

ABS for 08, 5th gear whine still present. If very late build then head issue was resolved, otherwise check VIN to see if it needs to be done. More than likely whoever owned it opted for the "improvement" to be done.

I expect to be doing a similar upgrade soon as well, to an 09 or 10.  Hope you find what you're looking for at a good price.

gamslere, I agree with a lot of the other guys. Get at least an 09 because of the new frame. I would also suggest that if you can find one that is stock(fat chance) get rid of the cat and get the fulsac stage one map, open HD  air cleaner(don't buy the kit buy the parts separately so you get the chrome breather), and 1.75 baffle inserts from Fulsac. For long rides this combo makes me real happy. More power than stock good mileage and no problems. If you get something used and the seller is going on and on about all the engine work upgrades you may end up with something different than what you really wanted to start with, a dependable long distance bike with plenty of low end torque. Just my 2 cents. Actually because of the price of copper isn't a penny really worth more than a penny? CAHDBIKER
