SE Night Stick for my SERG?
« on: May 01, 2012, 01:47:48 PM »

A friend of a friend offered to almost give me a 2 into 1 Screamin' Eagle exhaust system removed from a 2010 Street Glide.  Before I make the drive across state I need to know:  Will it fit my 2000 SERG?  Does the system have a catalytic converter?  Is the thing worth the trouble?

They only did that exhaust one year as stock equipment.  Either they just weren't popular or they weren't popular because they didn't work well.

Pretty sure it came with a catalyst in the chamber.

It wont fit without modification and there is a catalytic convertor in the headpipe, I saw a decent Nightstick Muffler at a swap meet priced at $50.00 and it didn't sell, as Glen said they were not popular.

You will have to mod it to work..........And it still may not. I run one on my 2010 without the cat and it seems to work fine .....and cheap if you find one used. If I was doing a hopped up motor with heads etc, then I would just buy a supertrapp

I think I'd pass more if the cat were gutted.  Having two independent oxygen sensors in a common chamber?  No thanks.

No o2 sensors on the 2000 SERG.  Still, don't want to have to modify something to fit and if the low end performance isn't there its just not worth it.

I think what needs modified is the way this newer exhaust mounts to a bracket on the transmission.

If it's cheap enough, no harm in giving it a shot.
