New Fox Creek Semi-Perforated Vest
« on: August 12, 2011, 02:39:45 PM »

Ordered one of these the other day and it arrived today.  Great piece!!  I like vests, but never wore them much because they were always too hot for the summer, and not warm enough for winter.  This seems to do the trick...will be cool enough in the summer, and in the winter I can wear a jacket over it and the leather plus trapped air pockets should add another layer of warmth.  Like all other Fox Creek items I own (Chaps, Jacket, Deerskin Gloves, Wallet, etc.) the quality is fantastic and the customer service is exemplary.  Fit's perfectly.  The main great feature is that it has an left inside snap closed pocket specially designed to carry most any gun...perfect for my S&W AirLite 38 spl., but it would hold much larger automatics as well.  It has a one piece back, if you want to put a patch on it...I'll probably sew the 4" CVO patch on the top middle of the vest's back...or on the front.  Have to get the patch first to see how well it fits/looks...ordered that today from Greg.

Here's a photo of the front:

Here's the fully perforated back...one piece of leather.

Glad you made the vest investment TC ....  great way to carry concealed, esp. on a scooter.  My .380 inside my vest didn't even add to brusing in my tumbling during this cage encounter.  And if the pocket is made with the appropriate retention strap, the piece will stay secured as mine did thru out all the craziness. ( Don't go adding beads on those rawhide ties, you ole hippy. )  :veryangry2: :beatnik2: har.  spyder

Thanks, Spydy...had a chance to wear it Monday on a 200+ mile ride in temps up to 90 degrees.  Worked like a champ, and you can't tell I'm carrying at all.  As you advised, this is by far the best and most comfortable way to carry that I've found.  Fox Creek really makes some good stuff...I'm always impressed with the quality of their goods.  Judi liked mine so much, we are having one made for her to match...only hers will have Liberty Head Dimes for the snaps.  I'll do my best to avoid the beads...how about feathers?   ;)

I've got a b'day coming up in a week or two (the big 60), so this was a gift from Judi...the other part of my gift is a Steely Dan concert in Tuscaloosa Saturday night at their new outdoor venue by the river.  Never got to see them "back in the day", so figured I'd better before they croak.  The third part of my gift...well, I'll collect that on Sat., Sept 3rd... :coolblue:

I have the Fox Creek vest and it's very good quality...the only problem is it's very hot in the summer..this may fix that...I will need to check it out also.
