Battery Life with stereo playing
« on: May 13, 2012, 10:23:55 AM »

How long can you play the I-Pod with the accessory switch on before the battery won't spin the motor. Also, can you walk away from the bike with the accessory switch on and radio playing
without sounding the alarm?

Depending on your audio set-up (e.g. - amp), you can get 2-3 hours with no problem.

Yes, you can walk away without alarm sounding.

Thanks for the info. Now I can blast some tunes when we are sitting around where there is no music and not wonder if she turn over.

I played mine at a rally last year for over 4 hours on ACC, and it started fine the next morning.

If you are running an amp though, I would not push it much past the 2 hour mark. I haven't pushed mine past an hour since I installed the amp.

Perhaps the folks who wish to use their Harley as a big boom box should look into running a dual battery setup.  One battery to run the actual bike, isolated from a separate battery dedicated to running the sound system and maybe some of those colored accent lights that were so popular a few years back. ;D  Folks with camping rigs will know what I'm talking about.
