ID Bracelet
« on: May 13, 2012, 04:35:20 PM »

My wife and daughter and got me this for Mothers Day.  It's an ID bracelet by RoadID.com. My daughter is a trauma nurse and they see a lot of bike accidents and can't ID the rider.  I do a lot of solo riding on long road trips and they thought it would be a good idea for me. It has name, home phones, birthdate, NKA (no known allergies), pertenent medical Hx, if any,  DNR (but they wouldn't tell me what that one stands for!!!).  I think it's pretty cock and will probably use it alot this summer.

Yeah, that's my warped sense of humor.

They said that this way I'd at least know my name and phone number.  Some days, it seems that things are that bad.

Another thing you can do, since all 1st responders will check out your cell phone at the scene of an accident. Enter the acronym "ICE" In case of Accident, this should contain the names and phone numbers of who you want contacted In Case of Emergency. So far have not had to use this.

Worked with a kid that was 'Type 1 diabetic'....he had that tattooed on his wrist because he kept catching/breaking/losing the wristbands. IMHO, not a bad thing to do if you have a permanent condition.
