DesesrtBear54, rearding fuel additives which contain "Octane Boosting" ingredients. If you read the fine print most of them only raise octane rating by one tenth of one percent. When my had my overbuilt 80" Evo the only thing that would stop the pinging was at least 3/4 of a tank of 100 octane. IMHO I would not waste my money on any octane booster. I think clubbie suggested to look for leaks in your intake tract.Pull the air cleaner and look around. Things do get loose maybe you have a loose bolt on your intake manifold, or your where your throttle body attaches. I know on my evo I have two ports on top of the carb that are not used and are covered with rubber plugs, and It gets pretty hot around there so I have to replace those on occassion. Since   nothing on your bike has been changed since last year and you are slowly hearing an increase in pinging it could be something as simple as a loose bolt on your intake tract or maybe one of your sensors is misreading the amount of air entering your engine and not adjusting the fuel input accordingly you could check the connectors on those items. I am assuming you have a service manual. I am no mechanic, but based on other things I have read on this site this is where I would start before  going to dealer. CAHDBIKER

Thanks you all!! I will look at a fuel additive until I can get the motor tuned. :2vrolijk_21:
