Dresser Duals W/Stock Mufflers
« on: May 17, 2012, 02:23:13 PM »

Greetings,

I'm a new owner of a 2012 FLHXSE3. When I bought the bike I included a set of Vance & Hines Dresser Duals which I have scheduled to be installed this weekend.

I was curious if anyone else has done this. If so how was the sound with the stock 4" mufflers. I do plan on replacing the stock mufflers with the Vance & Hines monster rounds as I had a set of Twin Slash Monster Ovals on the 09 Street Glide with stock headers and liked the sound very much.

I'll save the tuning question for another time.  ;D

Got the Dresser Duals installed Sunday.

Theres an improvement in sound and volume over stock with the stock slip ons but not the sound I'm looking for.

Looking at going with the V&H Monster Rounds or the High Output slip ons.

Only problem is theres a bad at time vibration in the right footboard. Checking I can't see anything touching the footboard or the brackets. Dealer who did the install is being a real azzhat about it, surprise surprise. Have a set of Harley Goodies extentsions on the way that I hope will solve the problem.

It could be as simple as too much tension or something in the entire assembly.  If you loosen all the joints and wiggle it around, you may get all the parts lined up better and find your problem gone.

It may also be the EFI calibration is incorrect in some respects.

Maybe both...

Put the V&H Dresser Duals with Monster Rounds on my 20102 FLHTCUSE7 - the dealer strongly suggested I "needed" the floorboard extensions when we ordered everything due to how close the boards are to the pipes - after they heat up, they'd come in contact and I'd get the vibration you are talking about - I had them put on when the system was installed.  Very happy with the sound and the performance!
