Torque/Power with Python Staggered Duals on a 2007 FXDSE?
« on: April 05, 2012, 02:08:20 AM »

Hi. I'm new here. Does anyone have any numbers to throw around about these pipes. I am taking off the rusted Thunderheader that is on the bike (that is making great torque), and replacing it with these Python pipes. I'm wondering what users experience has been with them from a torque/power stand point?
Thanks for the input.

Justice, I had pythons on my 95 Heritage. It was a built 80 incher at the time. Now I have an S&S107 in in it. I noticed a loss in low end power when I installed them, almost like I put on drag pipes, so I went on Ebay and got some Screamin Eagle II with hidden crossover from a 2001 Heritage.(they fit no problem except for small bracket at rear mount I had to make to keep them away from saddlebags) The muffler body was much bigger then on the pythons and the crossover pipe helped with scavenging. I felt like I regained the  low end that I lost. I wish I would have put a thunderheader on it. I know from my friends they  make great torque and sound awesome. If your bike isn't too heavy pythons are a good choice you will probably get more top end. Good Luck CAHDBIKER

I have Python 3's on my '99 FXSTC. Dyno showed a fairly significant torque drop in the lower rpm range. Fixed this reasonably well by inserting some tubular baffles into the end of each pipe. Needed a little more back pressure.      JoeS
