Need fuelpak codes for 2012 CVO SG
« on: July 10, 2012, 07:43:25 PM »

I bought a 2012 CVO SG and the heat on the right side was unbearable and the bike sounded like a sissy wimp. I installed V&H true dresser duals and put the stock slip on mufflers back on the bike. Bought a fuelpak, but didn't install it because V&H says they don't have codes for this setup and they say installing the fuelpak without changing the codes will make the bike run too rich. I've got about 500 miles on the bike now and the longer I ride it the more delay it has in the throttle on take offs. Does anyone else have this setup or any advice? I like the way the factory slip ons look and I'm trying to save money by not buying V&H slip ons just to get the codes for the fuelpak. The heat problem is very much improved with the  duals and being rid of the catalyic converter, also not nearly as wimpy sounding as it was from the factory.

I have the V&H PowerDuals, 4" Rinehart Slip-on's and the V&H's ThrottlePac.  I always noticed a lag in the throttle response and this was eliminated after installing the ThrottlePac.  I also have it tuned with the PowerCommander.

You may have made a mistake with your EFI tuning package. TTS Mastertune or HD's own ProSERT are proven on our bikes.
A dyno tune is required with the ProSERT.

I stand corrected.  :nixweiss:  I have the ProSert.   :P

My advice is to take the FuelPak back for a refund and get a real tuning solution.  One of the very best is the TTS MasterTune package, and it would be my first choice if I were the one setting up a new bike.

If you decide you want a little better sound from the mufflers, since you've already mentioned you like the look of the stock mufflers you might want to consider the Fullsac replacement baffle option.  Fullsac offers a discount to site members, and they also sell the TTS tuning package.  There are many satisfied customers of their products on this site, do a search for Fullsac and you'll find many threads and posts on the subject.
