What Pipes and Tuner for 2013 CVO RK
« on: August 15, 2012, 05:58:30 PM »

I am currently running Rineharts, Fullsack X pipe and stage one intake with a TTS tune job on my 2012 FLHRC that puts out 91 torque.

What should I be looking for to put on my new CVO?

I wish the Rineharts were a little louder maybe the 110 motor will help.  Was thinking of keeping the exhaust and putting it on the new one instead of "giving" it to the dealer with my trade.

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks!  Rich

D&D Fatcats.  They're a 2 into 1 system, and you can buy a "ghost pipe" for the left side if you want the dual muffler look.  They are louder than Rineharts, but provide good performance.   The Thundermax is an auto-tuning ECM that uses wide-band O2 sensors.  You replace your stock ECM and narrowband O2 sensors.  There are a few members on the site that have installed the Thundermax.

I really like the dual exhaust set up I don't care for the 2 into 1. Maybe rineharts with the performance baffles. Still not sure. The cfr's sound interesting too

with the Fatcats with the "ghost pipe" they look like duals but have amazing performance. If you go to Youtube, you can hear them compared to Vance and Hines which I believe are close to the Fulsacks. They are load and mean!

Since it is highly unlikely a dealer will give you any more for your trade with the aftermarket pipes versus the stock exhaust, why not keep the pipes you have and reinstall the stock pipes on the 2012 RK?  Assuming you kept the stock parts, of course.  After installing the system on the CVO and evaluating the performance and sound level, you can always change mufflers or baffles if you like.

PS thundermax has an update out, provides for a smoother throttle response, just make sure you copy your current map, as it will delete all current maps, fyi----the thundermax has the capability of having up to 5 maps that you can change while on the road and you can also change your idle speed while on the road, cool stuff,  :orange:

I was there today and I'm keeping my pipes. I will try them a you suggest.  His first shipment of cvo bikes is Tuesday. He won't know what he has till Monday afternoon via email from Harley. I hope my RK is in the first shipment!!!  Trade allowance was the same with and without my pipes.  All ready to unbolt and retune!!!

i had se race tuner and v&h true duals installed while i was at Sturgis on my 2012 cvo rg skunk.  $1300 installed and dynoed.  Couldnt be happier. Kept my stock mufflers and without the cat my bike has a deep rumble, not too loud but a great growl. duals look great and bike is like a different animal.  It truely is a screamin eagle.  acceleration is scary, torque is strong   I couldnt imangine how my bike could sound or perform any better.
