I may just give him a call.  Thanks...and I like the keep adding idea. I just have too much going on in my life right now. I found a good deal on a private sale on a non CVO and was considering keeping the deuce and making the wife park her X5 out side :) but I think I am just going to stay with one toy. With saving for two kids (2 -4) college, and my wife and I are pretty sure that we are going to put them in private school... I would love to have some of your stables!  When the kids are grown I will start adding more bikes to my stable.

If you can find a way to keep it and add a new bike that's the way to go. It will be hard to replace what you already have. You are already way ahead of the game. I wasn't able to get my first Harley until the kids were all gone. If I could do it all over I would have bought the bikes and not had the kids. They really hate when I tell them that. But now that they have kids they understand. Good luck.

So I will be keeping the Deuce, and putting in a inground pool.  Think I could have got one hell of a streetglide for what I am shelling out for the pool but family first and I love my SE Deuce!

Just a reminder...make sure you inform your insurance company about the pool....an acquaintance had a drowning,I'm not sure of circumstances, and had not informed the insurance company of the new pool.....financially ruined!!

Look into a saltwater system instead of chlorine.  I love my saltwater and my cost per summer in chemicals is about $50.  :2vrolijk_21:

It is a saltwater system. I'm getting the CVO of pools!

What kind of mileage do you get on that back yard cvo, cvogirl?  ha, ha.  Great looking pool there and you have the right choice in color for your cvo, too.

Harleyrider, you made the right choice in keeping the deuce.  Having a bike paid for is money in the bank....no matter what the circumstances and problems, you can always throw a leg over that paid for bike and ride in the wind.

As for an additional bike (when the pool is closed for the winter.....), I would go with a 2009 or better SG.  Rode Ultras for years (have had 4 of them) so when I bought my 2009 SG, I thought I would miss the tour pack and lowers.  Did miss the lowers but got used to no tour pack.  Plus, the 2009 bikes had the catalytic converter in the muffler, not in the header pipe like 2010 and newer.  Much easier to make exhaust changes to get rid of that cat.  Put quite a few miles on it before I saw Ginger (my 2012 SESG) and had to have it but that's another story for another thread. :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2:

HUH?
I have to wonder where people come up with this?
The catalytic converter for the 2009 CVO's baggers was in the header pipe.
But it is the internet.

SBB, sorry I wasn't clear.  My 2009 SG was not a cvo.  The 96 CI bikes had the cat in the muffler, not the header pipe.  Specs, mechanics and personal experience there.  You are correct on the 2009 CVO SG and sorry for the confusion my first statement might have caused :nixweiss:

Did you have a special edition?  For 2009, CA 96" bikes had the cat in the header like the CVOs and the regular '49 state' 96" bikes had no CATs.

For further clarification, I had removed my exhaust system on the 2009 to upgrade as I wanted to get rid of the cat plus I was bored and wanted a project.  I noticed the mufflers were much heavier than I had expected and did some research on why.  Found out from the removal (the header pipe was open) tech bulletins, my HD repair manual and finally from my buddy at the parts department that the 2009 96CI bikes had the cat in the muffler, not the header pipe.

I do know that my header pipe was "clean" on the 2009 (no cat material) so don't know what to tell you there.  Maybe that's why there was a surcharge on California models...just guessing on that one.

Didn't mean to cause a fuss here SBB.  Just going on what I've experienced/seen.  May be they changed designs mid stream as my 2009 was an early model (got it August, 2009...fell in love with that black pearl paint.....)
