I just noticed a flake? 1/2 inch of paint missing from the engine block. it's on the upper surface so doesn't appear from anything from the road chipped it.

Anyone have the same issue? Is there touch up paint for the block?

There's touchup paint but you won't like the result. The engines are powdercoated. Try a warranty claim 1st.

i have the same problem. The dealer here is putting it through on warrenty, plus the speaker grills and the clear coat comming off the fairing. oh and now the left speakers are cutting out.

This happen to my 08 RK CVO the first year I had it and HD covered this under warranty.

My clear is coming off my fairing also. Sux 2700 miles and two months old.

Has anyone had any issues with the gray engine powder coating flaking off of the engine?  My '11 CVO FLHXSE2 started flaking off behind the rear section of the shifter linkage back in early spring.  I asked the dealer today if that was covered under the warranty and they didn't know.  I was dropping it off for the 20K service with 21,147 miles.

Unless they can show it was damaged by something you did, it should be covered.  And you aren't the only one with the problem, someone else started a thread today about his 2012 powder coat flaking off.  If you go back to the 2009 models there were quite a few of those as well.

Appreciate the feedback. This sucks! I would think it's a pretty big job? Going to take it to my dealer this week and make sure this is under warranty, I'll be happy to remind them of the comments found here.

I'm curious. Are some of the bikes also pealing in the clear coat??? My left saddlebag has a spot larger than a half dollar where it looks like the clear coat is pealing off.

add me to the list my 12 cuse7 was peeling under the crank case and the top of the trans,they have a repair kit for these as nothing gets repaved just repaired.this bike has had the most problems than anything else I have owned,my 09 cuse4 and my regular bikes have not had the issue that this one has,very dissapionted

planenut.. Not sure where you purchased. I just got off the phone with Bergen Harley where I bought my 2012 SESG to discuss this issue. They claim its a first for them? I plan on bringing it in tomorrow cause HD warranty guy is there? Im not willing to accept repair unless it's like new. We all have spent 32K+ and I expect more!

keep us up to date,It was serviced up at otool's in ny and that I was told how it is repaired.Also find out and let me know the reps name because I heard Troy who was the rep in the area is now gone,he didn't last long because I meet him when I first picked up my bike and it had problems and still going.
