You cannot display codes on a 2002 SERK speedo.  That feature started in 2004.

I have a miss on my 03. Stopped at a dealer for him to check my code. They did it right then and didn't charge me. They said I needed a new injector. $63 parts and $60 labor. They didn't have one in stock. When I got to my local dealer he pretty much quoted me the same.
I inquired about warranty since it effects emmissions even though the bike isn't under warranty.
Not sure what year it goes back to but they said for emmissions, warranty is 18,000 miles.

before you let them replcae the injector have them inspect the harness between the frame and the injector.  there have been a few of us here that have had a broken wire to one of the injectors because there was not enough play in the cable

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure and mention it to them.

I finally got to the bottom of this problem, it was in fact a broken wire leading to the front injector, I have been messing with this thing for a couple months, just kept getting worst. Found one of the wires completely broken in the insulation, was jumping an arc inside to make it run, the broken gap just kept getting wider and wider as I rode the bike. Anyone having a motor miss, please check this out first. I went to the dealer and bought the new Packard connectors and made me two pig tails that made the wires 3 inches longer, runs like a top, like it should, took $2.50 in parts after I had already spent alot more than that trying to figure it out. Thanks niatram, after researching this I think I know about three of these bikes that this has happened to, I think the harness is too short for all of the movement these motors have in the frame

glad we got you straightend out. when mine went i was told the problem seemed to be isolated to CVO's

the explanation was because CVO's to come down the regular line the location of the wire tie on the harness arounf the frame is apt to vary more and if its too tight this will eventually happen

Took bike in to dealer for scheduled appt.  for front injector code.
They had bike 6 days. Could not get another front injector code so they deemed it as OK.
I cancelled Sturgis for this appt.
Took bike for a ride: Not getting a code but bike is obviously not 100% and running on the warm side.
Screw it, took the tank off and checked wiring like you mentioned.
5 minutes later was looking at a broken wire at the tie wrap.
Btw, when I took it in I stressed broken wire was a issue on these bikes.

Thanks soooo much for the help here.
Yea I missed Sturgis, but if I had went, my vacation would be over. Now I have another trip to plan and look forward too.  ;D

Thanks again and if we ever meet up, I owe you a beer or 3.

That's sure the truth. When I went over why this was ignored with the Service Manager he pulled the hard copy.
All the Service Writer wrote was intermittent miss.
