I am in the middle of the 12'' MB install , is there a need to remove the fuel tank ? Can i only remove the upper brake hose ?

Removing the tank is a piece of cake.  When I did mine, I removed all painted parts except the fenders.

DOT4 brake fluid is corrosive and can damage paint.  None of this install is quick and expeditious.  I took my time and maybe did extra steps, but the end result was well worth it....
