2012 SG Handle bar vibration
« on: September 27, 2012, 10:22:25 PM »

Cruising at 2000rpm, let go of left hand grip and it shakes and the clutch lever make a rattle sound.
Doing the same to the right side and its perfect, no shaking or rattles.
Any ideas what could be causing this.

Place a wood dowl in the left bar, say 4-5" long.  :nixweiss:

You can put some weight on the bar, grip ends, lead slug, lot of ways to deaden it.

But you really need to drop a gear and keep it above 2000RPM.  At that engine speed it still lugging, and sooner than later it's going to eat the compensator.

With all the wires (and possibly Heat Demons) in there, I think, installing any kind of weight is easier said than done.

My 2011 did the same thing. It is the spacing in the pin and ring clip that holds the clutch lever to the assembly. It took me a while to figure it out. After much searching I finally found a very thin UHMWP (Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly Ethalene) washer that accomodated for the minor play in the pin and ring clip. Problem solved!
