Slip on Mufflers
« on: October 04, 2012, 03:45:14 PM »

I've done this with the last 6 bikes, but this is the first 110 motor I've had, and was wondering if anyone just put on free flowing exhaust without putting on a tuner. I know I'd get the most, as far as preformance and such, but I would like to just add the pipes.
                          Thanks in advance Jonnierock

Hey Jonnierock,

I just put on th Rush 4" Big Louie slip-ons with the 2.5 baffle, I love them and so far there have been no issues.

The stock SE slip-ons sounded like a kicked cat, Now it sounds like a Harley and it's not so loud that it interferes with the music

I bought the tip compatable ones and put the HD tips back on them.

Looks great, sounds great and no tune issues. I have about 500 miles on the bike since I put them on.

So I'm taking it you put the slip on mufflers on with no other modifacations. no DFO or tuner.
                          Thanks for the help Jonnierock

nothing else but the slip-ons, I put them on with about 400 miles and have about 900 now. After about 10-15 miles with the new mufflers it seamed to pick up a little power and throttle response. Maybe it was just my wishful thinkin  8) and maybe it was just starting to get broken in. Who knows, but the ECM made whatever adjustments it needed to.

If you only add mufflers and leave the air cleaner stock the system will compensate in the 20 - 80  % throttle opening (closed loop) idle to 20% and 80 to 100% will not change because of closed loop.
