Hi there
I am the proud owner a CVO Street Glide and today I took it out for a fair ride covering about 250 k's (about 150 miles) and is is my habit after the bike cools off I start the process of removing splattered bugs and gently chamois off road dust etc. This is the first time I've detailed the bike. In the process of cleaning I found what I thought was bug guts on the middle to lower right hand side of the front mudguard (below the fork mount and between the front edge of the guard and the flame graphics) 3 elongated spots about the size of the $ sign but rectangular in shape. Wiped them gently with a damp chamois but they were still there.
On closer inspection they are flaws in the metallic red paintwork (bike is Ruby Red) and definitely under the clearcoat. I could supply some photos if needed. To rectify it would require a fair bit of work I would think but I'm no spray painter. Or replace the entire front mudguard? From what I've been told only 6 Ruby Red FLHXSE3 made it to Australia.
Geez this is a CVO I thought. Shouldn't happen?
There are two scenarios here: do something about it by mentioning it to the dealer at the 1600 k service or forget about it and live with it.
Just wondering what other owners thoughts are.
Cheers
