Ok, so in another thread I mention the dealer lost, misplaced, tech kept or whatever my NAV Disk for the West Region.

They replaced it for me today as it turns out they still had the jacket it comes in with only the East Disk.

Wonder if there is some sort of checksum that allows it to only work with one radio?  If not, by this logic, the little module itself should only cost about $300.00 and we could pass around the disks   .

Don, I know in our cars that use Navigant as the supplier they do have locks on them.

This only proves one thing "without the information disk the system is worthless"

Make a copy of your original and keep that at home and use the copy - has been working great for me since day one!!!

Wow, if that works it's great, it Navigant disks in the car industry won't copy.

I have made copies of the NAV disks for my HOG, for two of my Porsches (DVD on the 911 - CD on the Cayenne) and one back for the Acura a few years ago when I had my TL Type S...

Used ROXIO for all copies...

Don't know if HD dealers will do it, but, I work at a Honda car dealership and we load navigation updates at no charge to our customers.

Kinda' makes you want to buy a Goldwing, doesn't it?

Nope, but it is good customer service.  I'm sure my dealer would have done that if they had one.  They don't even keep any around......other then the tech that left with mine in his tool box.
