My Grandpa
« on: August 27, 2012, 12:38:29 PM »

This is a picture of my Grandpa Cleo Whiteaker on "his" Harley Davidson.

My Grandparents are both gone now but the story is that he was about 19 or 20 when this picture was taken. For years the story was that Grandpa owned an Indian but after looking closely at the photo that my brother found when going through some old boxes. Once he enlarged and printed a 8 x 10 of it I noticed a Harley logo on the front round box.

He was born in Feb 1910 and that would put this picture around 1929 +/-. He was a real cool hard working guy. He was always tight lipped about what he did when he was young. The only thing he ever said was that he worked for the union. When he passed he still worked to fill in as a boiler operator for guys who went on vacation.

When he passed my Mom gave me $10,000 and told me to buy something that would make Grandpa proud. This $10,000 was used to buy my first Harley Davidson in 2003. A white Deuce.

Does anyone know what year and model this could be?

Thanks,

After much research I now know my Grandpa's Harley was a 1928 JD. The light assembly made the search difficult because everyone questioned it. I think the attach picture solve the debate.

Thanks,
