CUSE8 Passanger board mods
« on: April 12, 2013, 11:34:11 AM »

I found that the passenger boards were uncomfortable for the passenger and rider on my new CUSE8.
They were too far forward for the passenger, her foot kept falling off the rear of the boards.
The boards hit the rider in the calf when trying to push the bike backwards out of a parking space.
Solution: Swap the entire right board assembly with the left board. Both rider and passenger happy now, 5 minute fix.

Wow! Who would have thought......need to try that. Being 5' 7" with short legs those boards are annoying as I think they are the same on the RG. Thanks!!

As you probably know their are 3 positions on the frame to mount the assembly. After I switched right & Left I used the lowest position on the frame. Then I re-adjusted both boards to the right height & Angle.
Hope it works for you. It sure made if more comfortable for us.

Several previous posts on this same subject exist. Search for "swapping passenger floorboards" for more info! Did it on my 09' SEUC very helpful, saved my calves.

I have these on my SG and found a few posts here about it. I swapped mine from L to R and R to L now I can adjust them backward instead of forward and they no longer poke me in the calves. I have them at a 45 degree angle going back so not quite all the way back and both the wife and I love em.

I cannot believe that 3 and a half minutes of effort made that much difference.   If you haven't tried this do it now!  I rode a long poker run today after switching parts, and I love it and the wife is happy with the passenger boards...Great suggestion!

Did it this weekend after the rear floorboard crawled up my leg (with a passenger) and I nearly dropped the bike. Huge difference with them reversed.

I did the switch (easy) during last week-end and what a difference it made.... the wife is happy now and it don't hit my calf anymore.  Can't believe my dealer was not aware of this.... they were trying to sell me another bracket.

Thanks!
