Question About Inner Primary Cover
« on: October 23, 2012, 03:41:18 PM »

I'm trying to buy an Inner Primary Cover for my 2007 SERK from Kuryakyn but they don't list the one piece for a 2007 touring, just 2009 to 2012.  I thought they were the same, can anyone confirm that?

The difference is the exhaust, on the 07 the cover cannot go back as far as the left side pipe runs over the top of the primary. On the 09+ there is no pipe over the primary, it runs under the frame. If you are not running stock headers and have a 2-1 pipe on it the 09+ unit will work.

Thanks for the clarification.  What confused me was that the Harley innner primary cover says 07-12 while the Kuryakyn says 09-12, thought maybe they just didn't know enough to guarantee it on the 07-08.  I have the stock pipes on my 07.

Kuryakyn does have a two piece cover they say will fit, maybe the Harley one is two piece as well.  Guess I'll look more into the Harley one for now.
