I finally installed a 2009 Boss Fat Cat with performance baffle on my 110 last summer. I'm using a pc-v with a fuel moto map for a 2-1. The bike runs good and I like the sound but the heat is still really bad. I keep reading about the fullsac setup with c pipe and replacement baffles along with the TTS and his map really reducing the heat.
My questions are by removing the Fat cat and install a Fullsac X pipe.
1- How did it affect performance?
2- which mufflers or bafffles are you using and how did change the sound?
3- was the heat reduction that dramatic?
4- what mufflers did you choose?

I would like to go with CFR'S or 4" Rineharts but wonder if changing the mufflers will undo the tune steve produced.
Thanks and Happy Turkey day. Rick

I have V&H's power duals and Monster Rounds.  I have no heat issues at all.  And Yes, if you change something in the exhaust it would probably affect your tune.  Happy Thanksgiving

That would be in your tuning. You are still running lean, hence the heat. I have the Fat Kat on my 12 Ultra with a SEST and love it. A lot of power and NO HEAT!!!!!

Bummer if its the tune as I put a 09 pipe on my 2011. So I can't use the stock 02 sensors.  Nobody around me tunes with a PC-V. So it sounds like my only options are to add a auto tune module to the PC-V. Buy a Thundermax and replace the ECM or replace the pipe one which has  the correct o2 sensor locations.

You can go broke trying to cool a 110.
You may need to define what you mean "by the heat is still really bad"
If you do slow riding in town or at biker events your 110 is going to be a furnace.
Your Fat Cat and PC-V have probably yielded as much relief from the factory setup of lean and catalytic convertor, as any other tuner exhaust combo will.
You mentioned your setup runs good so it is probably tuned just fine.
The perception of how hot your bike is or isn't probably relates more to your riding style.
If you don't have them the heat deflectors that mount below the seat and gas tank, they help tremendously.

Stuck in traffic on a hot day you are going to be hot on a 110.  65mph on the highway you will be fine.

I have tried a dyno tuned SE racetuner, Thundermax/autotune, and now the Rev Perf EMS, they all help the bike run better but will not make a 110 run cool when there is no airflow over it.

Simple answer is you and your bike will need airflow on a hot day or you are going to be hot.

I've got the same bike as you only in red. I maybe more heat sensitive then some people but last summer I about roasted in that 100* heat. I ride in a thin long sleeeve shirt because I'm tired of getting sunburn all the time. So that attributes some heat also.

Yes the heat deflectors do help. I had read that they radiate the heat up to the ride so I pulled them off. Man was that a mistake. It was really hot then. So I reinstalled them. I removed my vents in the lower fairings and that got a little more air flow. I had removed the lowers altogether but I didn't like the ride as well. To much head tubulence.

So which tuner did you find worked the best for you?

I road with a guy that had a 2009 SERG with V&H true duals and 3 1/2" rineharts his bike was alot cooler than mine. Hardly felt the heat at all on that bike. I think the bike just had a download done on it. So I know it can be done.

But as you said It could cost a lot of money to find the right combination of pipes and tuner to cool it down.

So which tuner did you find worked the best for you?  The Revolution Performance EMS has been the best for me.  If you have a 2011 as in your signature, the R. P. EMS will not work on your bike.

I road with a guy that had a 2009 SERG with V&H true duals and 3 1/2" rineharts his bike was alot cooler than mine. Hardly felt the heat at all on that bike. I think the bike just had a download done on it. So I know it can be done.  Did he have lowers?  Is his windshield lower than yours?  I would guess the difference you are feeling has a whole lot more to do with these type things.  His true duals should be very comparable to your Fat Cat as far as getting rid of heat.  Can't say if his is running richer or leaner than yours.

But as you said It could cost a lot of money to find the right combination of pipes and tuner to cool it down.  Just my opinion, but any exhaust change you make from the Fat Cat will not make for a noticeable difference in how hot your ride is.  I have used Fuel Moto and have confidence in Jamie and would guess your PC-V is a good tune, no way of me knowing that of course but I think you are going to be bummed if you chase tuners and exhaust to cool your bike.

Good Luck!  Hopefully others will chime in with some help.

Wood 77 7 cams, ceramic Jackpot headers, vision tuner with Auto tune, SE air intake and 1.75 f.S. cores for cleaned out stock cans. With a little tec help from FUEL MOTO I was able to do the work and the bike bike runs stronger than ever. The Auto tune makes it so easy and provides all in information you need to understand the ride. And the temp. at the old Cat location never shows a reading on the Lazer greater than 200 degrees. This has made the wife very happy because her right foot was always on fire.
