There are lot's of places to get replacement shields other than HD.  J&P, Drag specialties, Dennis Kirk, etc.  Or you can use one of the vendors that make their own such as Clearview Shields ,who makes a great shield and offers a 10% discount for site members.  It will take several weeks for delivery though.  www.fastaire.com and www.customflhtwindshields.com are a couple of others.  Knowing what size you want is very important as there are lots of options. Tommy.....I've tried many suppliers for HD windshieds, but have been most satisfied with the products from Fast Aire    http://www.fastaire.com/   Have used this company for many years as they also manufacture high performance window products for aircraft.  Excellant product about 1/2 the price of HD and much higher quality.  Customer service for aircraft and bike products has been great with real time delivery estimates (usually within 5-7 days) as most replacement windshields are made specifically to your color and shading specs.

Would agree with BLM on fastaire products. Great to deal with and excellent quality product for outstanding price ( no get no financial incentive for endorsement). Easy to install and great fit. Won't be disappointed.  John

I've purchased some from an eBay seller "American-Thunder" and have been happy w/there products. Priced right, and fast delivery (I've gotten the 8 inch dark smoked).

Like FiredOOd, I bought a smoked 7" off E-Bay for $25.95. The seller was dakota-shield and the windshield was high quality, fit perfect and was at my door within 3 days. He has several different sizes and colors.

If you're running windows, you probably have Windows Picture Editor...open photo in there, then resize to 800X600 pixels, save.  800X600 work best for viewing here or 640X480.  You can do the same thing in almost any photo editing software, if you don't have the one mentioned above.

On windshields....if you don't mind waiting, the Clearview is hard to beat.  I just installed their 9.5 inch on my bike....with the recurve, it's like adding another 1.5 to 2 inches to the height because of the air flow.  I'm 5'8"....it basically is two inches taller in actual height over the stock version, but has the same effect as being 3 or 4 inches taller.  I can still see over the top with no problem.  If you tell them your height, whether you have a passenger all the time or not, etc...they will recommend a size for you.  It took about 1 month from the time I ordered.  I'm very happy with it.

Went with the fastaire 9" shield (smoked). Came in 3 days. Fit is perfect and looks awesome! For $35 you cant go wrong and it allows you to try different sizes without breaking your bank. Thanks for the info on this product!!
