I ran into this book called "Bikers" by Dave Ebert. Must be a touchy subject, no comments.

I'll bite cause I know how it sucks when ur ignored. Looks interesting but stories like that r all over tv for people like me that don't have the patience to read a book. I don't get it ... I can spend hours on here typing from a dumb, little smartphone but I won't read a book.  :nixweiss:

When the "About the book" and the "About the author" sections of what's probably a self published book both badly need an editor it's hard to have much hope for the book itself.  Throw in a swastika as a glory hound attempt to look bad ass and get more attention (when the quality of the writing apparently can't get the job done) and this is a cover that won't waste my time.

Just finished the book. Keeps your interest. Great story. Sometimes a little cluttered with mumbo jumbo. Overall two thumbs up.

Just waiting to read it before a comment.  Thank you for the link and putting this on the forum.  I would not have known about it without the mention.  Picked it up this past Monday and put it down last night.  While I agree that the editing was a bit off sometimes, the story was great.  I get the idea of brotherhood and applaud it but do not agree with all the other things they (and seems most) clubs get into (guns, drugs, prostitution, etc).  That's not true of all motorcycle clubs and I know that.  However it is a pattern in the 1%ers.  Anyway, this isn't the post to comment on that, it's to comment on "Bikers" and I liked it.  It made me glad for them as a brotherhood and glad for me I'm not in that life.  Not giving away the ending but Clutch made the right decision in the end as the King of Kings is Lord of Lords.

Thanks for posting you all. It's the first "book" I've read in a long time (kindle) so I know what you mean. While Dave isn't a pro writer I was able to keep interested. I like the comraderie but also am content not living the lifestyle. And yes, the ending pretty much brought it full circle which really surprised me.  :2vrolijk_21:

CVO, may I also suggest you try the book "Hells Angel, The Life and Times of Sonny Barger and the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club".  Picked it up after reading "Bikers".  I'm about halfway through it and very interesting read.  Again I can understand the brotherhood but not all the extras that come with being in a 1% club.  Keep your head down, be safe in Afghanistan and come back soon.

Thank you, I'll order it up. I appreciate the keep safe note. More concerned about my new room mate snoring and making me deaf. ;D

Looking forward to this weekends flight to come home for the holidays. Been right at 9 years, think I'm due. :2vrolijk_21:

Merry Christmas!!!

Neil, you read my mind.  Saw this when I completed the "Bikers" book CVO started this thread with.  I plan to get it as soon as I finish the Sonny Barger read.  From the book blurb and reviews, looks like it's a good read.  It's on my iBook app as a "demo" currently and I'll purchase soon.
