Extended service plans
« on: December 10, 2012, 05:47:44 PM »

If you plan on purchasing an extended service plan, why not purchase the max amount of years? I ask this because your average yearly cost is less for the plans with more years, plus if you trade in the bike prior to the expiration of the esp then you get back the portion you did not use. Or you use it as part of your selling price if selling it privately

Yes you got it right....most CVO owners will agree, especially with the electronics and other goodies that are expensive to repair.  Shop around you can get discounts and you do not have to purchase from your local dealer.

There does get to be a point with ESPs that you need to look at the individual owner. Plans go up in price as the number of years grow. If you are planning on holding onto the bike for a long time then the coverage has more value but if you tend to trade often then it gets to be a bit more of a matter of covering your needs.

Don't get me wrong, I added ESP to mine but I hold onto vehicles for a looooong time. And ESP is insurance.
