Need help pricing cvo parts for sale
« on: December 18, 2012, 01:07:09 PM »

I'm wanting to sell my 2012 cvo street glide floorboards, the pans, the shift and brake pedals, shift linkage and the grips. I went by my Harley shop to try and get the prices but they were no help. Just trying to figure out what would be a fair price to sell them for. Thanks in advance!

Just do a search in selling for each item that you have and you'll get a pretty good idea of what they are going for.  It may not be exactly like you have but probably close. Remember, if they sell too quick you were too cheap and if they don't sell, you are too high.

Start with the list price, then.  Everyone here can get 20% off list.

So start by taking 20% off list, then decide where you will set the price based on that $$ amount.  Somewhere between 50% to 80% of that number usually is right for used (even though they look new) parts.

Sometimes EBay is the right place if you need to get more for them & they really look like new.

to get a good reference for new parts, use: http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/ronnies/iframe.asp?make=hdmc

click on the link right under 'view cart', where it says 'oem harley davidson parts finder'

if your dealer won't help you, then you've got to help yourself.  they wouldn't even let you look at the oem parts catalog to look them up yourself? bastages!

After researching and googling I put together what I think are fair prices for everything. We have a sh!tty dealership by my house, they either rip you off or are no help at all.

You can get the parts breakdown book for our bikes from the dealer or Tri-County HD. It isn't very expensive so the shipping cost from TC may negate the 20% off.
Find the part number in the book and then do a search from there and set your price.
For me, I am usually tired of moving the part around and just want it out of my way fast so I set the price at 50-60% plus shipping. I use USPS "if it fits it ships" for ease of pricing and quick delivery.

Tri county has a flat rate of $10 shipping no matter how much chinese junk you order! :2vrolijk_21:
